Meet the JAPAN ROAD TRIP team—featuring our Web Marketing staff, Jhean (that’s me! LOL)

First of all, let me introduce JAPAN ROAD TRIP! We started in 2019 as a campervan rental company, mainly serving visitors from overseas. Currently, we have 5 rental locations across Japan: Tokyo, Hokkaido, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Saga. In addition, we’re working hard to expand to more areas so that you have even more travel options.

Moreover, to make your trip more affordable, we offer special discounts—such as early bird and long-term rental deals. Plus, if it’s your second time or more renting, you can enjoy an extra 5% off with our repeater discount. So, don’t forget to check them out and save even more on your next adventure!

Now, let’s meet the friendly team behind JAPAN ROAD TRIP!

Bern

JAPAN ROAD TRIP staff

Self-introduction

My name is Bern, and I am one of the handful foreign nationals working within our company. I have been living here in Japan for the past 19 years already and I am confident enough that I can share my experiences to our foreign clients in order to help them with their upcoming journey here in Japan.

Hobby

I’m an avid fan of football (Soccer) and whenever I get the chance to play I still do so. I also love motor sports of which Japan will never be short of. Last but definitely not the least is my love for outdoors, like the football whenever I have the chance to do a short excursion trip I always go out to camp out with my family.

Job Description

My job description covers relatively a wide range of aspects but I mainly oversee that each and every client will have a smooth transition from the first point of contact until they return the vehicle with our team.

Recommended Places to visit in Japan

Places that I would be locations that are not so touristy but still you’ll get the chance to experience the “TRUE” Japan. Places like the Ouchi-Juku wherein you can see a very well preserved Edo-period post town with traditional thatched buildings. Another spot would be the Tsumago & Magome (Kiso Valley Nagano Prefecture), this will be a town along the Nakasendo Trail, a historic route between Kyoto and Edo before.

Recommended Food to try in Japan

For the gourmet, since Japan is a hotspot for eccentric foods I can give countless recommendations but as a foreigner living here in Japan I would say that nothing beats a hot bowl of ramen. Up until now I still have to eat and experience more ramen shops but for the locations that I have already been to I will be providing 3 locations.

Jiro ramen ⇨ If you love an insane amount of garlic mixed with pork broth with thick noodles, this place is for you

Ramen Iida shoten ⇨ If you love a well balanced flavor of soy sauce with broth this place is worth a visit

Tsukiya ⇨ Again another ramen soup made with pork bone that is slightly a different genre of the famous Hakata Ramen

If you’re visiting Tokyo, I recommend checking out Yomiuriland Hana-Kei no Yu Flower Park. It’s a fun flower-themed park that’s easy to get to from the city. You can enjoy hot springs, relaxing spas, and delicious food while taking in beautiful views. Plus, you can even stay overnight in your campervan!

When you visit Yomiuriland Hana-Kei no Yu Flower Park, be sure to stop by the restaurant inside the park called Bishoku no Kyoku. I recommend trying the set menu. It’s a bit pricey, but the maguro (tuna) is delicious and definitely worth it—a must-try!
